Most enthusiasts know the Ford GT story? Henry Ford II tries to buy Ferrari in the early 1960s but is told to pound sand by Enzo Ferrari. Henry decides to get his revenge and decides to launch a total all out racing campaign which of course includes beating Enzo at the 24 hours of Le Mans which Ferrrai has dominated for years. Ford finds out this is easier said then done after losing to Ferrari in 1964 and 1965. However with Carroll Shelby's help Ford gets his revenge and the Ford GT finishes 1-2-3 in 1966 and then wins Le Mans for the next three consecutive years. Years later Bill Ford decides to honor the car and victories as well as Ford's 100 year anniversary with a special limited two year run of Ford GTs.

Our 2006 Ford GT is still on it's original MSO having traveled only 185 miles. We purchased it new from Decorah Ford in Iowa on August 23, 2006 with four miles showing on the odometer. It is optioned with the Mcintosh radio, aluminum wheels and painted calipers and is 100% factory original and flawless.

More significant is what option was not ordered. This 2006 midnight blue Ford GT is one of nine midnight blue 2006 Ford GT's built without white roof stripes. Seventy three 2005 midnight blue Ford GT's were manufactured without white roof stripes for a grand total of eighty two midnight blue Ford GT's out of the approximate two year build run of four thousand Ford GT's.

This Ford GT was # 1578 out of a 2006 build run of 2011 Ford GTs.
